For hair removal treatment, Cutera xeo+® laser energy is absorbed by the melanin, the pigment that gives hair color. This creates controlled heat energy which damages the hair follicle. As a result, the hair follicle loses its ability to grow hair, leaving the area smoother and aesthetically pleasing.
The Nd:YAG laser is particularly suitable for darker skin tones, as it can penetrate deeper layers of the skin without causing damage to the skin. Traditional laser hair removal methods often struggle with darker skin types due to the higher risk of pigmentation issues, but Xeo+® Laser overcomes this challenge with its customizable settings. The cool-view crystal tip of the hand piece provides the most comfortable and safe outcomes for patients.
WHAT TO EXPECT WITH XEO+® LASER HAIR REMOVAL TREATMENT
When you arrive at Awaken Aesthetics for your first xeo+® laser treatment, our highly trained medical staff will be happy to answer any last minute questions you may have. Then, the areas you wish to have treated will be cleansed in preparation for the procedure. A thin coat of clear gel, are applied to the skin just before the laser pulses are quickly administered to the unwanted hair follicles.
At Awaken Aesthetics, we strive to make your xeo+® laser treatments as comfortable as possible. While most patients report little discomfort, some experience a mild burning or tingling sensation.
The length of the procedure can range from a few minutes to an hour or more, depending on the size of the areas to be treated. We ask that you arrive shaved in the pattern you want treated in any area. Many patients even return to work just hours after leaving our office.
HOW MANY XEO+® LASER HAIR REMOVAL TREATMENTS WILL I NEED?
THE TREATMENT PROCESS: WHY MULTIPLE SESSIONS ARE NEEDED
Laser hair removal with the xeo+® platform, like other laser systems, typically requires 6-8 treatments to achieve significant hair reduction. This is primarily due to the hair growth cycle, which consists of three main phases: anagen (growth phase), catagen (transitional phase), and telogen (resting phase). The laser is most effective during the anagen phase when the hair is actively growing and the follicle is rich in melanin, the pigment that absorbs the laser energy.
However, not all hairs are in the same phase at any given time. This means that a single treatment cannot target all the hairs effectively. Multiple sessions are necessary to catch each hair follicle in the anagen phase, leading to more effective and long-lasting results. The typical interval between sessions is 4-6 weeks, depending on the area being treated and the patient’s hair growth rate.
